At Luzerne County Federal Credit Union, we offer many different types of accounts, suiting needs of all different kinds. Check out some of what we offer below:
Share Accounts
We offer a variety of share accounts. The Regular, Christmas Club, Vacation Club, All Purpose Club, Share Draft Account and all accounts receive quarterly dividends. Regular Share Account is required for membership. (see *Rates for a list of the current rates).
Regular Share Accounts
Regular Shares Account requires a minimum deposit of $5.00 to open the account. This Balance needs to be maintained within this account throughout the duration of your membership.
Share Certificate of Deposit
Share Certificates are time deposits. We offer 6 month,12 month and 24 month certificates. For early withdrawals, there is a penalty equal to 90 days interest. The certificates will be a minimum of $2,500.
Club Accounts
- Christmas Club Accounts are to be used to help you prepare for the holiday season. Your deposited funds will be transferred to your Regular Share Account by October, 2022
- Vacation Club Accounts are to be used to help you prepare for your much deserved vacations. The funds will be transferred to you regular share account in May, 2023
- All Purpose Club Accounts are to be used for any purpose, taxes, annual insurance premiums, or for any reason. The funds are available for withdrawal anytime.

Share Draft (Checking)
Open your new Share Draft account that won’t charge a minimum balance fee or monthly fee like most financial institutions. Write as many drafts as you need. Receive monthly statements.
Check Check Card
Check Cards are available through VISA. Check Cards are used in place of written checks. They act like a credit card however funds will be withdrawn from Draft Account. It can also be used at ATM machines.
Direct Deposit and Payroll Deduction
Money management is simple and automatic with these two free services:
Direct Deposit – You can have your employer automatically deposit your payroll directly to your account with the Credit Union. Social Security and Retirement Checks can also be a direct deposit.
Payroll Deduction – This great service lets you specify a portion of your paycheck to be deposited into different accounts, enabling you to save or pay back loans automatically.
ATM Service – With an ATM card from Luzerne County Federal Credit Union you can perform transactions at any Cirrus ATM across the country. Your ATM card gives you 24-hour account access, so you’ll never have to wait for business hours again!
IVR – Our 24-hour Voice Automated System lets you check balances and conduct transactions from any touch-tone phone, whenever it’s convenient for you. Many of our members find that this free service fits their busy schedules perfectly, allowing them to access their accounts with a simple phone call.
Other Services
Money Orders— Money Orders can be purchased for a fee of $1 per money order. These can only be purchased within the offices.
Treasurer’s Checks—Can be obtained for a nominal fee of $2.00 if the check is made to a third party. No fee if it is made to the member.
Amusement Park Discount Adminission Tickets—We offer Knoebels Park Ride Tickets. The book of tickets is worth $5.00 you pay $4.00.
Movie Theater Discount Tickets—Discount tickets are available Restrictions may apply (check newspaper). We have two types of tickets available for R C Movies 14 located in Wilkes Barre. There is a restricted ticket and Non-Restricted tickets which can be used any time, any movie.
